The overall objectives of NC-953's program are to instill
in high school cadets:
a. Values of citizenship
b. Service to the community and the
United States
c. Personal responsibility
d. Sense of accomplishment
With these objectives the cadets will develop:
a. An appreciation of the basic elements
and requirements for national security.
b. Respect for and an understanding
of the need for constituted authority in a democratic society.
c. Patriotism and an understanding
of their personal obligation to contribute toward to the United States of America.
d. Habits of orderliness and precision.
e. A high degree of personal honor,
self-reliance and leadership.
f. Broad-base knowledge of the aerospace
age and fundamental aerospace doctrine.
g. Basic military skills.
h. A knowledge of and appreciation
for the traditions of the Air Force.
i. An interest in completing high school
and pursuing higher educational goals or skills.
j. An understanding of the Air Force
and military as a possible career path.

- Be eligible to enter the Air Force two pay grades
higher than other enlistees.
- Your uniforms, insignia and textbooks are FREE.
- AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC will prepare you to work
in an expanding technological world. In the Air Force or as a civilian.
Plus, each high school hosting an Air Force Junior ROTC unit
can:
- Nominate qualified candidates for an Air Force
Academy appointment.
- Nominate qualified cadets for a 3 or 4 year AFROTC Scholarship.
